THE WEED DOC

Hello! My name is Dr. Amanda Cartwright. I am a Naturopathic physician, author, homesteader, and speaker. In graduate school, I studied natural medicine with concentrations in muscle response testing, iridology, and herbalism. I am trained to diagnose and treat through natural and holistic means.

Herbs are an important part of nature and they play a huge role in my day to day life. They can prevent and treat the root cause of health concerns rather than merely alleviating the symptoms with pharmaceutical medications. Herbal medicine is a vibrantly alive discipline that is being used actively in many cultures throughout the world today.  There is no question that herbal preparations can be of benefit to you or your animals!

As an author, I have written ‘Survival Herbs For Beginners’, ‘Boost Your Lazy Immune System’, ‘Natural Health in The New Covid World’, ‘Herbal Horse Care for the Homesteader’, ‘Herbal Animal Goat Care for the Homesteader’, ‘Herbal Animal Cattle Care for the Homesteader’, and other herbal animal care books based on individual animals. Many of these are available on Amazon, Books-A-Million, Barnes and Noble, and various other bookstores.

On my homestead, my husband and I live off the land and animals. Our goal is to be completely self sufficient. We grow food, milk goats, collect eggs, weave yarn, crochet and knit items, make soap, make butter and cheeses, tan hides, butcher, and thrive from getting back to nature and learning to live the way our ancestors lived many years ago. Many of my herbal skills have been practiced on our pets and livestock animals.

I focus many of my herbal skills on education. I very much enjoy speaking at homesteading/prepping events on (but not limited to) ‘How to Use Herbs Medicinally’, ‘Herbal Animal Care”, ‘Top 10 Survival Herbs’, ‘Herbal First Aid’, and ‘Ways To Store and Preserve Food’. If you are needing a speaker at an upcoming event, please consider having me speak! Reach out to me by email and we can discuss!

Along with speaking events, I also enjoy educating through a Youtube channel and through a bi-monthly newsletter. In this newsletter, I educate on all types of herbal information that can help you learn and implement herbs as medicine. If you would like to join the newsletter, please send me an email and I’ll be happy to add you!
