Vitamins, Minerals, Amino Acids, and Fatty Acids
These are the raw materials that your body needs to function properly. Without these, the foundation will crumble and the building on top (you) will not function properly.
Vitamins: There are 13 essential vitamins that help the body function, grow, and develop normally. The body can’t produce them in sufficient quantities so they must be obtained through diet and/or supplements. There are water soluble vitamins and fat soluble vitamins.
Minerals: Minerals are essential building blocks that the body can’t produce. They must be obtained through diet and/or supplements. There are major minerals (macronutrients) and trace minerals (micronutrients).
Amino Acids: Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins which help build and repair muscles, organs, skin, hair, hormones, and enzymes. They also help with mood, sleep, fatigue, and weakness. Some are essential (the body doesn’t make them) and some are non essential (the body does make them).
Fatty Acids: Fatty acids are the building blocks of fat which helps give the body energy, builds cell walls, absorbs vitamins, supports brain health, controls swelling, supports the heart, helps manage inflammation, and helps the immune system. There are over 500 different types but the main ones are saturated and unsaturated.
Why do you need a strong foundation? So you can focus on living a life full of energy without chronic pain or disease. Yes, if you tackle it head on and balance your raw materials, you are much more likely to live to be a happy centenarian! (a person that lives to be 100 years or older).
